    In Debt
I am in debt with doctor bills from when I was young. I also am trying to get on the right track for my kids but it is hard when you can't get anything because of debt. How do I start or go about bankruptcies?

    1. If you believe this is what you need to do, go see a bankruptcy attorney, first visit is normally free.

** but remember "things" are not what matters to kids, love and being there and often giving the proper example of paying bills and being responsible means a lot also.

And often having to say no is not a bad thing either.

Like another answer, see an atty for legal assistance for filing bankruptcy. But first, did you realize that you credit will be affect if you file either type of bankruptcy, may limit your ability to get credit in the future or to obtain decent interest rates? Also, some but not all medical providers, hospitals, clinics will sometimes settle for pennies on the dollar it they know that's all they may ever get? I would seriously consider the amt of your medical bills and other debts, your income, etc, and have a truly 'NON PROFIT" debt counseling service that DOES NOT charge fees, to give you some advice first.
