Try shamppoing more than you usually do. That can wash out a portion of it but the rest takes time. If it really makes you freaky to look at it, see a hair dresser or options. By the way you aren't allone in this. I once dyed my hair a light red blonde to a dark dark alburn color and couldn't look at myself in the mirror for weeks until it faded out.

You can try washing your hair with a lot of shampoo and do not use the color treated kind because your hair will not fade out much because color treated shampoo prevents fading. Use a really good shampoo that cleans hair really well and you can also add a little bacon soda to it and it will help clean the hair as well as helping to lighten the color. Wash it several times and if this doesn't work you can always dye your hair back to the light brown and there should be no worries about this because I had to do this last week. If you were to dye your hair blonde on the other hand this could really dry out the hair because of all the bleach but you just dyed your hair black and it should be NO problem to dye it back. Use a really good conditioner after treatment! From now on when you dye your hair don't leave it in too long because your hair must change shades fast and also do a test spot and treat a small portion of your hair and rinse it out to make sure that is the shade that you like and if it is too light leave it in a little longer until you get the desired shade of color that you are happy with!

No. No lemon juice. Unless you want to risk it turning green.

The BEST thing for you to do is to go to a professional hair stylist and have them to dye it back to the shade that you want and that you will be happy with, they will also add conditioners to moisturize and make your hair look very healthy and textrurized. It will look better done professionally and you will not have to worry about killing and stripping your hair by adding too much shampoo or lemon juice because that is what can happen and you will have the shade that you desire if you go to the salon! You don't want your hair to become frizzy and dull and this can happen if you keep washing it too much! Most likely if you dye your own hair people can tell that it was NOT done professionally and it will never look as good as having it done at a good salon, so if you have the money please have it done at a trusted salon!
