    Ceiling fan fan not working
    Fan pooped when Iturned off is there a reset button on fan. Sounded like a light bulb blowing out but all lights work only fan won't run.

    I've had problems with this in the past. If you are just hooking up the fan, you problably have the wires crossed, try switching the two wires. If the fan has been hooked up and worked in the past though, your motor problably burned up. Sounds scary that you heard a pop though, that's a new one.

    What make is the fan? Does it have a remote?

    See if a capacitor Blew. Usually visible, if audible.
    Connecting backwards should not cause any problems. If DC. Would turn backwards.
    No effect on AC.
