It never hurts to start with a vet checkup, but I think this is a clear case of leadership. At 2 he is maturing and perhaps feels he is ready to challenge you for pack leadership. The key to most behavior problems is approaching things using the dog's natural instincts. Dogs see all the people and dogs in the household as a pack with each having their own rank in the pack and a top dog. Life is much easier if the 2 legged pack members outrank the 4 legged ones. You can learn to play the role of top dog by reading some books or going to a good obedience class. A good obedience class or book is about you being top dog, not about rewarding standard commands with a treat. If he isn't neutered, it could make a big difference, although it is not a cure all. It also eliminates a number of common causes of cancer in later life.

I agree wholeheartedly with labman. Pits take longer to mature than smaller dogs. He is definitely entering his mature stage and is challenging your leadership. Please follow labman's advice and links. In addition, if your boy isn't neutered, please do so asap. It is easier on them when they are younger rather than older. As labman states, it may not be a cure-all, but it many cases, reduces dominant and aggressive behavior, and of course, avoids any possibility of testicular cancer later in life.

Hi I also have a pit he's 8yrs old now & used to do that all the time when he was a puppy. He would go as far as to pee ON someone sitting on the couch!

He still pee's in the house if hubby don't walk him when he should
