How to get the deed to inherited land?
My Mother-in-law recently died & left some land to my husband in her will.
The land is in another state in Rhode Island. We live in Florida. My mother-in-law was paying the taxes for her "lot" which she inherited. She also lived in Florida.
Now my husband & I have to contact one of the sisters who handled the taxes.
What do I need to do to obtain the property deed from my mother-in-law's sister (who is the sibling that takes care of the taxes being paid on the 4 lots that they equally inherited)?

The executor of your mother-in-law's estate needs to prepare a deed from the estate to your husband. Check the will to see who was named as the executor. That's the person you need to contact.
