I lost one of my partitions in the 2nd HD
    Hi

    I'm using Windows XP sp2
    I have two HDs
    1st one- 40 GB main
    2nd one- 160 GB
The second one I made 4 partitions in it
    F,G,H,I
I put some shortcuts in the disktop belongs to folders in drive H

    My computer was working normaly
Nearly I heard some voices from 2nd HD

I unpluged the power from the 2nd HD
    And restarted the computer
    It worked normaly

In the disktop I clicked on the shortcut ( which belongs to the partition in the 2nd HD that I unplugged it )
A message appeared said the original folder or partition missing or moved.
I shutdown the system and plugged the power again to the second HD.
It started normaly but when I entered to my computer I found all the partitions but the partition H is blank!!
This partition H shows that the it is empty!!

I want to rename it as it was before but can't , it shows ( local disk H : )
I can't accses , it says this drive must be format.

I tried the system restore but it says that there were many changes made to drive H which excloded or moved.

I tried disk amnagement , all the partitiones appears even H but with no lable

How can I solve this problem ?

I tried to enter do dos command to search for the H partition it says that its recycled or corupted .

Did I lost the partition and my data ?

Please tell me if you can

Sounds like the partition is corrupted. You might be able to use disk recovery software like On Track to restore it. What about your backups?

    I didn't backup any

Do you think if I renamed the partition letter could solve it ?

Or use repair from Windows XP CD boot ?

    Thanks

I found a program that can recover my data (powerecovery ) .
The thing that made my crazy that when i open my computer it appears like this :

When i run the program and let it search for my partitions it gives this :

You see ? The partition ( h ) appears with lable i named it before .

I choosed this partition to be scaned for files & folders it gave me this :

    Strange isn't it ?

Then how could the lable name & folders ( in the same order appears ) but not in my computer .

Plus after this action my computer freezing 5 or 6 times in a minute .

Could you tell me what to do ?
If i want to backup or save them it needs to bye the program .
Plus they are more than 10 gb .

I think the partition is not corupted as i hope

I'm not familiar with that program, but your disk is definitely corrupted. As I said there are data recovery tools that may help. You apparently found one. But they aren't going to be free. If that program can read the folders like that, it stands a good chance of recovering the partition. So go buy it.

And start setting up a backup routine.

Can i delete the partition from partition magic and then make new partition ?

Cause the partition is not useful anymore .

If you had a backup then yes you could delete the partition, recreate it and restore the backup.
