    Thank you for a thank you?
    If someone gives you a gift as a small token of thanks for a job well done, or in appreciation of you, should you send them a thank you note for the gift? It almost seems like overkill, but I don't want to be rude, or come off as stupid for sending a thank you for a thank you gift! What to do?

    Cari, when a person gives you a small token thank you gift, all you should give them is a warm heartfelt verbal "thank you" when they hand it to you. Follow up cards and notes are not necessary. However, if it is a client and you want to ensure they will continue to do business with you, the smart thing to do would be to send a little note telling them how much you appreciate their thoughtfulness and their business.
