Hi! To turn on our ceiling fan, you have to pull a chain. This chain broke right out of the fan. Is this fixable? Thanks.

It is fixable on some fans, but this requires you to take the fan apart and replace the switch inside the fan... sometimes it is just as easy to replace the whole fan. You can find the pull chain switch at just about any hardware store, but like I said before it can be tricky to get the thing apart if you have not done it before. I hope this helps, good luck!

Did anyone answer your question? The chain to my ceiling fan broke off too & I'd like to get it fixed, if it can be fixed.

If you are mechanical, Make sure no power. Not to be cheap, But you can sometimes dissamble switch and remove piece of chain insert good part of chain. Reassemble.
Take note wire colors going to each position before dissambly. Doesn't always work
Some can't be fixed. But you will have part in hand.
You may need some dexterity for assembly. Good Luck
This is an option, The above advice is good.

I had to replace the flywheel on my Hunter ceiling fan and I had to remove the light kit that was attached. After I installed the flywheel, I forgot to mark the wires for re-connection. This is an older model fan. There are five wires coming from the fan motor--brown, blue, white, black and black/stripe. There is a blue and black wire coming from the pull chain switch and a black wire and a white wire coming from the light. I connected the white to white and the black/stripe to the black from the light. I connected the solid black from the fan to the black wire from the switch. I connected the blue from the switch to the blue from the fan motor. I also connected the brown wire (ground I think) to the blue wire. The light comes on, but not the fan. Any suggestions on this wiring. Thanks!

SEC, you are better off to start your own thread rather than tagging onto someone else. It gets too confusing. Ceilingfanreapir should catch this latter and reply. If you make a new post he will see it sooner. In the meantime take that brown off the blue wire. Pretty sure the blue is the hot wire for the light. White's your neutral.

Ballender, thanks for the compliment on the links. I wrote all those documents myself, ceiling-fans-n-more hosts them for me. It's helpful not to have to repeat the same answers over and over in detail.
