Installed New Dishwasher Lost Hot Water
Thanks in advance for your help. Any advice would be appreciated. I recently installed a new dishwasher. Immediately I noticed that the hot water to the kitchen sink is completely gone. It is a single handle sink that has no flow when I turn it to the hot water side. Operation is fine on the cold water side. The dishwasher seems to work fine and has hot water. To make matters worse, the valve under the sink to turn off the hot water does not completely shut off the flow of H2O making it difficult to work on. What should I do?

Sounds like when you tapped the hot water off for the dishwasher you disturbed some crud on the pipe walls and it got sucked up into your kitchen faucets cartridge hot water inlet ports where it's now blocking them.
Besides the angle stop you have two other places to turn off the hot water.
One is at the cold water supply to the water heater and the other is the house shut off. You must open up the faucet and clean the inlet ports. While you have the valve apart place a pan over the open valve to reduce splash and turn on the hot water for a minute to flush out the line. Good luck, Tom

Can I Run A Dishwasher W/water Heater Turned Off? [ 7 Answers ]

Hi. I have an electric water heater with a slow leak that I can't replace until later next week. I already turned it off and drained it. I did this before I realized that the dishwasher only takes water from the heater, and now of course I can't run the utterly packed dishwasher (divorced mom,...

I live in a house that was built in the early 1900s so the piping is really old and I didn't want to chance breaking anything so I went the cheap way out and I didn't sodder anything. I took the hose off from my hot water and added a T pipe that screws on to where the hose used to be. Left side...

No hot water in kitchen sink or dishwasher [ 3 Answers ]

There is no hot water in the kitchen sink. If you let it flow on high for a few minutes, it gets tepid. I have felt the water in the dishwasher in the middle of a cycle and it is cold. The hot water is fine in the 3 bathrooms. We have tried flushing the hot water heater, but that did not help. Any...
