Do you know anything about belly piercings?
I'm about to get my belly pierced next week at this place that almost all my friends have got theirs done at. I'm extremely nervous!! I'm 14 and the place I'm going to, you don't need a parent with you and it only costs like $20. I don't know what kind of place it is but I really want my belly pierced and nothing has happened to my friends piercings so I'm guessing that mine will be OK.

Well anyway... if you've got your belly pierced- does it hurt? How long does it take to heal? What should I clean it with? What do I do if it gets infected? When will I be able to change the belly ring? Should I tell them to pierce it w/ a lot or a little bit of skin?

And yea if you know anything else about belly piercing please let me know so I can make sure I'm not making the biggest mistake of my life... thanks in advance

I have had my belly pierced for about a year and it didn't hurt as much as you would expect. It took about 4-5 weeks to heal. If the person gives you something to clean it with, use that but if they don't, I used a mixture of clear unscented Dial soap and water(about half and half). If it gets infected go back to the piercer of a doctor and see what you should do. You should go back to the piercer when you think it's completely healed and see if you should change it. Weather you should get it done with a lot or a little bit of skin depends on your size. If you have a small figure the get it done with a lot of skin because my sister got hers done and had to take it out because it didn't have enough skin so it rejected the jewlery. I really love my piercing and hope you do too.

    Good luck.

This is just an extra bit of information. On new years eve I forgot to put a barbell in, in the morning and by the time I noticed it it had already started to close. I was at my friends house(who also has her belly pierced) so luckily she had extra barbells. I couldn't get it back in. so my friend (who researches everything) read this thing that said "Use hot water." So I got a cup of hot water and well I was still standing put the cup around the hole And laid down. I just laid there with the cup on my stomach for about 5 minutes. That helped a lot because it made the skin get softer so it made it a lot easier. I hope that doesn't happen to you but just in case.:) Email me at [email protected] and let me know how it went.

I got my belly button done about 2months ago. At the same time I got my ears done a second time. I found that my ears hurt more! I was expecting a lot more pain having my belly button done but it did't hurt at all. I had a lotion with my ears so I just used that for cleaning my piercings. It takes about 6-8weeks to heal. When changing your bar just make sure that the new one your putting in is clean! I changed mine after about 7weeks. Mine didn't get infected so I don't have any advise on that sorry.
Hope it goes well for you!
