Convert the denominators to a common one, like 12. To change 1/4 to 3/12 multiply this fraction by 3 on top and bottom. To change 1/3 , multiply top and bottom by 4, which would be 4/12. Now , for both fractions multiply the whole numbers, 6 and 3, by your common denominator, which is 12. 6*12=72 and 3*12 = 36. Now add the whole numbers to the numerators of their respective fractions an simplify. (72+3)/12 - (36+4)/12.

I am pretty tired, so check the math and finish it up. Don't forge to simplify!!
