It is possible, but it could be a stomach virus also.

How much does she weigh, as weight plays a minor role in menstruation. Many young girls around the weight of 100 pounds usually begin their periods.

My daughter had one and one period only right before she turned nine. She is ten now and hasn't had another, but the hair is there and the mood swings right around the same time as mine. I have been watching her and that is what I have come up with. It is just a way of life, make sure you talk to her very openly and sweetly, it will be a big help to her. I just keep a couple of pads in her back pack just in case and that way she knows she has some protection if it comes back at cshool. Tell her about the changes and if she needs to talk that you will always be there to listen. Good luck with your young lady, whether it be now or later! Another thing is that when my daughter started, she quit having accidents at night, but right before she started that one and only time she was wetting the bed almost every night for 2 whole weeks, we took her to the doctor and he said that her body is growing and this is very normal. Just a small piece of info, thought I would share!

My daughter weighs 5 stone and is 140cm in height she has the signs of armpit arm forming and little fluffy fine hair in her pubic region but her breasts aren't budding yet.

Okay, well 5 stone = 70 pounds. Armpit hair and pubic hair really don't have anything to do with it.

Whether this is a new "beginning" for her or she just has a bummy tummy, only time will tell. Just tell her we will know soon or later, and make sure she knows what she needs to know and has everything she needs just in case! Good luck and enjoy your little girl while you can! I know I will!

:) I was 13 when I started but I was a lot smaller and lighter than my daughter as she takes after her dad in size and I noticed that the bigger girls at school developed breasts a lot more quick than me so would bigger girls also start there periods sooner?:)

Yes, they will start sooner. Keep an eye on her and when she is about 7 stone she will probably start.

I don't remember getting menstrual cramps when I first started getting my period.
Have you taken her to the doctor? Could be something else.

Thank you for your response to my question but my daughter answered the question yesterday when she finished school as she has started her periods now.

Well I got my period at age 11. Does she feel sick?
Maybe a little nauseia..
Her back hurts?
