Hello anyone and everyone,
For the last year until a few nights ago I had a hormone free IUD. The IUD was implanted after the birth of my second daughter. I have been nursing and did not start to have a period until the end of April. Since then its been off and on for a week at a time. Then this last weekend my cramping became intense (of course on a Sunday) and I also felt that I had a yeast infection. No cottage cheesy discharge - so with these symptoms and the consumption of copius amounts of yogurt and probiotic with out relief I became sure that the IUD was doing something bad to me. Then I started what I thought was another period, but its been more of small blackish redish flecks with a small amount of blackish redish blood-consistency discharge. This is unusual for me - everything is usually "blood" red. With the relentless uncomfortable state I was in combined with the information I acquired about bacterial vaginosis & the IUD, I took the IUD out. When my Dr. put the device in, she said when I wanted to get pregnant again, I could just reach in there and pull it out - that there was no need to come in to have this done, unless I really wanted to. What I read about the removal of the IUD is that most physicians like their patients to be menstral, which I was - because the cervix is softer. Well for the most part the severe itching is gone. Its tapering off, however I still have this crazy discharge I spoke previously of. I have come up with several possibilities for what is going on inside. I would love any thoughts or feedback regarding the matter. Being uninsured, I am trying to find my own peace of mind with out having to drop $300. Any correspondance about this matter would be greatly super appreciated. Thank you for your time.
