I have learned that if you are going to throw God into the discussion - be prepared to back it up! Or get yelled at!

I don't know, It's just something my mother used to say when we were kids. You know when kids say that's not fair (at least in my family) she would always say that.

My Mom would say that too.
"Life isn't fair - GET USED TO IT!!"
    Or
    "Whoever said life was fair?"

That's the old tapes in your psyche. You can record over them with something more positive. Try working with affirmations.

Affirmations - Positive statements created and repeated in order to cultivate a more positive mind and attitude.

    I don't analyse I utilize.
    I deserve love and respect.
    I am prosperous and happy.
I welcome change in my life.
I enjoy the simple things in life.
I do things in order of importance.
I alone am in control of my destiny.
I have faith in my plans and projects.
I contribute to the happiness of others.
I am in control of my health and wellness.
I attract healthy, honest people into my life.
I get adequate rest, exercise and nourishment.
I will reach out and take hold of this moment.
I honour my integrity and the integrity of others.
I have the power to make my dreams come true.
I am deeply thankful for all that I have received.
I will bring more peace and harmony into my life.
I may be alone from time to time but I am not lonely.
I am freeing my mind of negative and limiting thoughts.
I realise even big plans must be worked out in small steps.
I acknowledge my successes with gratitude and generosity.
I alone am responsible for everything that happens in my life.
I realise there are lessons to be learned in all my relationships.

This is the fifth time that after I've taken my sweet time answering a post, doing some research, thinking my words through, etc. etc. and I hit "Submit Answer", I'm directed to the Sign In page!! I hit "Back" quickly and desperately but alas! Everything is lost!

AAAAHHH! It took me 5 times to get it through my thick head!!
Lesson learned... finally. Now, I always highlight my answer, right click, choose 'Copy', before submitting.

I've learned that debt and money problems are serious in the United States... worse than I first thought... and that when I thought I hit rock bottom I didn't. Others here were and are in worse shape than I am.

    - I learned that I may be only one of only a handful of peope who has not just so happened to find the odd loose pill just laying around and need to have it identified.

    - Some married men are very very busy. Yes, busy little bees they are.

    - That there ase some truly beautiful people here at AMHD, both inside and out.

    - We all are basically the same. We hurt, we laugh, we worry, we love and we just want to be loved in return.

    - Oh this one really interested me. I did not know that a female dog can have babies at the same time, from two different dads, in the same litter. Is that not amazing? Did I say that right? Labman, please feel free to correct me. That just blew my mind.

Yes, Allheart my love, you did state it correctly. Females can mate with more than one male during their heat. The result is pups in one litter who have a different daddy. :)

I don't know so much about what I have learned here but I have had confirmed again and again that no matter how busy you people are you can always find time to spread an encouraging word.

I had a bit of a tough weekend and I gather it showed in my posts over the last couple of days and one or two lovely people sent some encouraging words. I thank you.

What a lovely forum, what lovely people, so glad I found it.

I learnt today's teens cannot write vowels and have no clue what they are saying and go bonkers at the drop of a hat and should be rounded up and kept till we can ship them to... wherever will take 'em.

I have learned that when you post something that you THINK won't cause a stir - normally does. Be prepared to defend, defend, defend!

If you don't want to defend -
"I'm sorry, you are right and I am wrong" works pretty well too!

LOL Tal - They certainly do. It certainly is the Bonker Generation isn't it. Poor things.
Maybe we could set up an island for them Bonkers Island and they can't come back until they are completely unbonked. I never bonked like that at their age - heck, come to think of it, I don't think I bonked like that at all, ever.

I agree with you too Talaniman.

And I so agree with NowWhat! Ain't it the truth!

I have learnt that no matter what you say or do, you just can't win sometimes. It is more important for the other party to prove their point and pound away at you than make an effort to understand.

    Allheart,

    "..Bonkers Island.." lol

I don't know about the US but here in the UK 'Bonkers' has a sexual meaning -a couple going at it - I think some of the teenagers would just love your island. Lol

We can send all the bonked teens to the UK and they never have to come back. Problem solved.
