Hi, is not can they you should be asking the real question is why, if you obeyed their rules and respected them then I am sure they would be more tolerant of you if you do and they still want to kick you out then maybe is because they want to see you gain some independence and responsibility for yourself as I said ask the question why? I agree that it would be good for us to at least know a little something about why they want to kick you out. Because by your asking the question the way that you have, it indicates that there more than likely some problem that needs a solution.

The other responders are quite right - what were you doing that prompted your parents to want you out of their house? If you are graduating within a month, it must have been something serious.

There are many states that do not permit parents to so called "kick out" their 18 year old's IF they are still in high school. Please check double check with your high school counselor to see if you are on one of these "states."

And since the original poster did not provide full, solid information.
Do not assume that he/she was being disrespectful.
Many parents has a lot of kids at home that they cannot financially support another one.

That being said - please post your research. I am not aware of a single State where the parent cannot "kick out" (remove) ANY child from the home, whether it's by having the child declared out of control, in need of supervision, something else. I'd like to know which States legally require a parent to keep a child in the parental home when the parent no longer wants that child there.
