    How do I budget?
One year ago, my husband and I divorced. We were renting a house with our 2 children. (one is not his). I stayed in the house and he moved in with his parents. For the past year, I have been a struggling mother trying to make ends meet. I have a great job and make good money. But every month, I can never seem to get ahead. One day, I figured up all my major bills (i.e. rent, water, electric & gas, car payment, daycare) and I still come out ahead. In other words, I make enough money to meet my bills every month. If I was able to save up four pay checks for a month, I would be able to pay all my bills by the first of the month and still have some left over for food, necessities. But it seems like every time I receive my paycheck, every penny of it is going to my disconnect notices for my bills. I'm even 2 weeks behind making my car payment. How am I able to get myself on a budget? How can I pay all my bills and then be on time with them every month? Please help! :(

Real Debt Help - Get out of debt with Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover Plan.

Has info on budgeting and getting out of debt.

Pay necessities first.. food, clothing, shelter, transportation... sell stuff to pay off debt, cut out things you don't need (like cell phones, etc)...

Working more hours or a second job for a bit may help until you catch up...
