    Judgement/credit score
How long does it usually take for a lawyer/debt collector to try freezing a bank account after a judgement has been put in place? Months? Years? Also, if you have a judgement on your credit report, how long will it take to repair it, if ever? What steps could one take to improve their credit score if nobody will deal with you because of a judgement? What if you settle with the CC company even after judgment has been issued... will that help a crdit score a little? Thanks in advance.

A judgment is a claim against an individual or business for the payment of money damages. It is the result of losing a law suit.

Let me see it will take them about one or two days to get the court to issue the garnishment or freeze of your bank account and about 4 days for legal service of the bank, and one day for the bank to do it.

About one week top to get the bank account froze once they have a judgement if they are going to do that. After they find the bank account.

The judgement will stay on for at least 7 years, ( although they stay good for 10 years) So each year after the judgement, your credit will get a little better. Only time and paying things off will improve your credit

Credit Score... [ 4 Answers ]

Someone might have asked this question, but there are so many posts that I couldn't go through them all. My question is: How many points does one's credit score go down, after, let's say a bank or a car dealer check the credit to see if you qualify? Thanks in advance.
