Got a quote from a good referral and would like to go with this company. Wondering what you though about the price:

Work

Install Cicuit for boat lift and mis items
3 fixtures for dock lights
Replace two white GFI receptable in kitchen
Install a white decora style dimmer for dining room light.

Service

Derive a 20 amp 110 volt from pool panel. Trench from there to the dock (100ft) to install outlet for lift controllers and a separate outlet for general use. Switch for the lights on the dock.

Total 2423 (include permit, intall, materials)

What do you think high , low, avg?

IF the electrician is doing the trenching ,I bet most of the cost is for that. The actual electrical work is definitely not $2400.00.

So throwing some numbers to estimate the total cost, if the fixtures cost $50.00 each, the remaining materials should cost approximately $300.00, plus a markup of 25%, so:

Materials resale is at... $560.00.
Two men at $50.00 per hour for 8 hours is $800.00
Permit... $ 50.00
Sales tax at 5%... $ 68.00
Total electrical work... $1478.00
Total proposed amount... $2423.00
Net cost to trench... $ 945.00

I wonder what the $23.00 is for, I always round off, but in any case, this is how I see the project costs breakdown.
