    Sound familiar ?
American migration into the Mexican Texas territory came in waves. First Spain and them Mexico encouraged the migration because they said they needed the immigrants to do the job Mexicans would not do (in this case they wanted a buffer between themselves and native Americans American human traffickers , known as empresarios, were contracted to bring migrants to Texas. The migrants were given freebees (land ) in exchange for eventually becoming Mexican citizens .

Well that lasted until the American migrants hit critical mass. The Texans revolted against Mexico and applied for US annexation.

The later US Mexico war that resulted ended up with the US seizing and "buying" a large part of Mexico (including California) .

The rioters in California are waving Mexican flags as they mostly peacefully burn cars and throw stones at police . The question is asked ; if illegals love Mexico so much, then why don't they just go back home ?

Those asking the question miss the point. Today the radical Reconquista movement (as championed by groups like La Raza) that would return the territories back to Mexico is rarely mentioned . The Dems invited them in like Mexico once did with Americans with the aim of bolstering their ranks for the 2040 census. What they fear most is the deportation of these future Democrats . They'd rather have their cities burn than to change their demographic calculation. The illegals don't have to show loyalty to America because their loyalties lie in their nation of origin and becoming American is no longer a prerequisite for admission.

The flag has become so ubiquitous in recent decades that it is a part of the Southern California landscape, adorning pickup trucks and flapping from bridges. Few mass gatherings occur in the region without a Mexican flag or two, from weekend soccer matches to Los Angeles Dodgers championship parades.
