Today Trump signed an executive order to create a Sovereign Wealth Fund. (SWF) .

I have more study to do but I had always assumed that nations that have surpluses due to export revenue create them . The idea is to take those funds and invest them.


Countries with large debt have created them also for the purpose of attracting foreign investment .
Trump seems to like to play hardball with tariffs During the campaign he claimed a SWF could be partly financed with tariffs.

One thing I am certain of is what the Constitution says

Article 1 Section 8 clause 5
CONGRESS has the power to coin Money, regulate the Value thereof,
This is not a power granted to the President. At least I don't think so.

But the number one fear is a government run investment system in the hands of the Democrats .


Here's a hint Trump; the government is supposed to be in the economy growth business. We already have sovereign wealth . It's called natural recourses. Buried in the ground it does us no good. tapping it creates all the wealth we need.
