yup . I expect that to happen. In NY ;even though the Westchester Airport had to close due to drone overflights ;they are taking i phone photos and waiting for the government to act. You see how that is working .

The amazing part of all of this is that the drones have to land at some point. You would think it would be easy enough to put a light plane up there to just follow one of them and see where it's going.

Yeah the government has to want to track them . Much easier to do figure 8 spying over military installations and Trump's Bedminster NJ golf course with a drone than with a balloon . These drones are also big enough to carry payload .

Flashback 2013
The Federal Aviation Administration today announced that the Garden State will be one of several test sites from around the nation conducting research on drone aircraft with the aim of ultimately integrating them into the domestic airspace.
In fact, the state will be playing at least two roles in these studies that could lead to a multi-billion dollar industry in commercial drone aircraft.
First, Rutgers University will be teaming up with Virginia Tech, which the FAA named one of its six test-site operators. The two universities, which joined forces as the Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership, have already run drone tests in Virginia and New Jersey, according to Jon Greene, a Virginia Tech official who is the interim head of the partnership.
"It’s not going to be a relationship where Rutgers is going to be working for us. We’re going to be working as a team," he said.

While specific test sites have yet to be determined, LoBiondo noted that part of what made New Jersey attractive include the restricted airspace above the Warren Grove section of the Pine Barrens, a bombing range for the New Jersey Air National Guard.
The FAA Authorization Act of 2012 mandated that the drone testing program safely integrate UAS into the national airspace.

But it is unlikely that this is government testing .
"There's a reason why we test stuff in Area 51 or all these remote locations, so that you don't have to cause public hysteria. And then when we would test stuff in cities, we would always, whenever we do secret exercises in cities, we would always inform the local police."

The government should come clean. The speculation because of the lack of transparency is becoming hilarious to dangerous.
Yesterday social media was on fire because some clown in Kansas; John Ferguson, who runs a drone company made the assertion that the reason the drones are crisscrossing the Northeast in search of loose nukes that went missing during the post-Soviet period that were shipped from Ukraine to the US. He claims 80 are not accounted for. He then went on to say that this was a ploy to get us into a war with Russia.
This was originally on TikTok, but it quickly got linked on places like Joe Rogan's X page.
Joe Rogan on X: "This is the first video about these drones that has got me genuinely concerned." / X
Ukraine gave up their nukes over 30 years ago. I doubt they ever had 80. But Ferguson claims he spoke to an unnamed "gentleman" who touched one of them. He claims they made it to Colorado from Ukraine and they again went missing a few years ago and that they travelled on the highways. He says the drone are equip with radiation detection sensors. Then he says the "gentleman" claims a nuke went missing from Europe and that is the one they are looking for.
The idea that this got as much social media play as it did is incredible. Joe Rogan did a lot this election cycle to gain credibility. Posting this garbage puts him back in the tin foil hat conspiracy theorist fold.

The story was talked up a lot because any kind of noise is preferrable to silence. The longer the feds take to clear up this mystery, the more we'll see wild stories like the one above.

And this is dangerous . Like it or not ;drones are with us from now on. The longer the government isn't on top of this story ,the longer the fear and paranoia festers. I suspect already that most of the more recent sitings are copycat.
What is going to happen when delivery drones from Amazon;Walmart ;and other distribution businesses services fill the skies ?
Personal drones are now readily affordable and accessible Some of the more inexpensive versions can be had at less than $100 .One of my neighbors flies a personal drone over the neighborhood from time to time and posts the video on our Fakebook page. Ours is a new development and much of it is still in construction . This gives us a birds eye view of the progress. So far there are no paranoia neighbors taking pot shots of the drone although technically it violates privacy.
I already gave example where the government gave contracts for drones tests in NJ . Here is one in NY that covers a 50 mile area

Why the government just doesn't say that is mind boggling. It leads to belief that they are hiding something .
“Usually when they don’t say anything it’s because the information will embarrass them in some way,” said Mark Cancian, a retired Marine Colonel who is an expert on defense and security for the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a bipartisan think tank in Washington DC.
“It’s entirely possible that they tested UAVs [Unmanned Aerial Vehicles] out and created public hysteria, and are now embarrassed to say, ‘it was us’.”
Security expert says Pentagon too 'embarrassed' to admit drone activity
How many are from the government approved ? But are they all government ? They allowed balloons to do figure 8's around military sites last year. The CCP purchased land around many of our bases . Are they launching them from there ?

Another innovative idea might be for the feds to try and figure out who sent those drones in and for what reason?
