I think Gaetz is a poor choice, and not so much because I think he will do a lousy job, but more because he doesn't have the needed background.

It is being said that Trump is wanting to put "yes men/women" into leadership roles. I hope that is not the case, but sure looks like it here.

RFK JR is the 2nd appointment I object to .

I knew that Trump made some kind of deal with him to get him on board. Kennedy met with Kam the Sham too and I'm sure he negotiated for the best deal he could get. I suspected Trump would have him lead a taskforce related to the covid cover up and the vaccine ,and maybe with overall nutritional health of the nation . I never imagined that Trump would consider handing the reigns of one of the largest department in the bureaucracy to a libtard (consider HHS overseas Medicare /Medicaid among other agencies ).

Consider some of the positions he has taken .
1 ) He favors single payer heath care .
That alone should disqualify him .

    2) He is a skeptic about vaccines . That is fine . But he goes to extremes . He denies the efficacy of the polio vaccine. He has suggested that the polio vaccine has killed more people than it saved. That is absolute nonsense.
Before the vaccine was introduced in 1955 by Jonas Salk ,American parents lived with the fear that their children would get the highly infectious disease. It is a nasty disease that attacks the nervous system leading to spinal and respiratory paralysis often leading to death. Survival leads to deformities and other lifetime debilities. It was by far the most feared disease of the early 20th century . Worldwide it killed or paralyzed over a half million a year. There was no known cure.

People lined up for their turn to get the vax. Within 2 years annual cases dropped from 58,000 to 5,600 . By 1961 there were 161 cases .Salk could've become wealthy by patenting his vaccine. But he refused to do so .When asked why he replied 'could you patent the sun?' Other vaccines including Albert Sabin's oral vaccine were later introduced . By 1979 the disease was eradicated in the US except when it came in from other nations.

Kennedy has said that no vaccine is safe and has made the claim that the polio vaccine causes cancer. That is dangerous misinformation . Vaccination mandates have eradicated or drastically reduced small pox ,polo , meningitis ,measles ,mumps and ,rubella.

Yes a case can be made against mandates of some vaccines ;and that vaccines like covid do not get sufficient clinical study before being approved . But his overall opposition to vaccine mandates should disqualify him for HHS.

    3) Up until his campaign told him to tone it down ;he campaigned for abortion until birth.
RFK Jr. says women can have abortions up till birth, surprising his VP

A few days later he backtracked and said that abortions should be approved until fetal viability .

i think his first comment was his true position. That should be an instant disqualifier .

He has a role to play . It should not be at the head of any Federal Department.

However Trump is making a solid choice for Sec Interior in North Dakota Guv Doug Burgum .

I speculated that Trump could pick him as a VP choice He was one of Trump's most active surrogates after the primaries.
Not so bold prediction on Trump VP pick

During the primaries(where he hobbled around on crutches while trying to get a word in) he touted the benefits of US vast abundance of both fossil fuels as well as developing renewables........ an all hands on deck approach.

As Guv he took a business and data driven approach to governing . He promoted energy;income tax reduction ;higher education ; reforms to agriculture and animal farming laws.and addiction recovery (his wife has been very pubic about her recovery) . He dosn't go into social issues unless he has to . He promoted more state cooperation with tribal nations.

Before politics he was a successful entrepreneur ; the CEO of 'Great Plains Software' that was later sold to Microsoft. He stayed on at Microsoft as a VP.
As head of Interior he will oversee the work of 70,000 people (way too many) and manage 640 million acres of land and the resources it contains (way too much land owned by the Federal Government ) .

Your "way too much" comments are spot on. 640 million acres is equivalent to almost four states the size of Texas.

Megyn Kelly explains why Trump selected Gaetz . I get it .

"Who Can Blame Him?": Megyn Kelly Gets Real About Why Trump Wants Matt Gaetz at the DOJ Now

Still his lack of experience alone is a disqualifier . Add the fact that there may be something to the investigations of him that need to be resolved . I'm sure there are others with more experience ,that have also been burned by the DOJ ,who would be more than willing to take on reforming the agency.

Why does Speaker Johnson want to bury the House ethics probe ? It would've been made public if Gaetz had remained a Rep. It is pertinent in the 'advise and consent' role of the Senate. It should be released.

US House Speaker Johnson wants Gaetz ethics report kept secret | Reuters

Who knows ? It may remove any doubts . Is there merit to the accusations or is it a political "wrap up smear" ?

    Gabbard smeared

Florida Rep Debbie Wasserman Schultz is playing the Russia;Russia;Russia card.

On MSNBC she smeared Tulsi Gabbard claiming her to be a Russia asset.

"She is considered to be essentially by most assessments, a Russian asset and would be the most dangerous,"

"Is that what you consider her?"

"Yes. There's no question. I consider her someone who is likely a Russian asset who would be as the DNI, responsible for managing our entire intelligence community, hold all of our most significant intelligence information and secrets, and essentially would be a direct line to our enemies,"
Debbie Wasserman Schultz slammed for claiming Tulsi Gabbard is a ‘Russian asset’

    Here's the back story.

Back in 2016 when Schultz was DNC chair ; Gabbard resigned as Vice Chair of DNC protesting that Schultz was rigging it so that Evita could win ;as Glenn Greenwald explains on X
Glenn Greenwald on X: "Tulsi Gabbard resigned as DNC Vice Chair in 2016 because Debbie Wasserman Schultz was rigging the election to ensure Hillary won -- as Liz Warren, Donna Brazile and WL all showed. Imagine fighting for your country and then having pro-war cretins like this impugn your loyalties:" / X

This happened at the same time as Evita was concocting the fake Russiagate conspiracy that still plagues Trump.

Gabbard is a Lt Colonel in the Army reserve who served in Iraq. Schultz is a career politician warmonger who never served .

Tighten up your seatbelt because this is going to continue for the next couple of months. With the active cooperation of the MSM, the dems will lie continually, and then will add to it by accusing the repubs of lying.

Pete Hegseth is now the 2nd Trump nominee accused of rape. He says the sex happened 7 years ago ;it was consensual ;and the woman was the aggressor. The police did not press charges. At the time he was a TV celebrity so he claims he paid her some money to go away.
He was publicly drunk and the women went up to a hotel room with him. Police have video evidence of that. Then she claims 'blackout'. She then says she went to the ER where they found semen in her. She filed a police report 4 days later after presumably her husband confronted her about a bruise on her thigh. Hegseth was concerned about possible black mail so he gave them money.

Sex scandals are the fall back tool of the swamp. They are hard to disprove ...he said /she said .They are salacious headline grabbers ;and as we all know ....we are always to 'believe the woman' .

The story went away only to be revived when it is conveniently reemerged to damage him during confirmation hearings.

Now if only he had left her dead in a car in the bottom of a canal ;or bit her lip during an assault.

I may have misjudged John Thune. He is already paying dividends . Under his leadership the Senate voted 61-35 (60 votes required ) to sen d the Laken Riley Act to the Senate for a vote on passage. It already passed the House of Reps. Presumably the Senate will make some amendments to the law so it would still need a final House passage before sending it to Trump to sign,

Not off to a good start if they don't want to end up like Qasem Soleimani ....... an explosive spray of pink mist left to greet their virgins .

It was revealed that the Taliban has been holding American hostages even after Clueless Joe made a deal to release American hostages held there .

Specifically George Glezman and Mahmood Habibi who weres seized by the Taliban in 2022 along with some 30 others after we offed Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri. The rest were released but these 2 are still held .

Sec State Marco Rubio threatened dire consequences if they were not released.

Note that the compliant press says that Rubio is escalating tensions .
