This is not good news ;and it makes the stakes in this election higher than before. Elon Musk has caved into Brazil's demands to censor political opposition and remove them from X . I don't blame him . Our rights are supposed to be protected by the government . Clueless Joe-Kam the Sham have proven ;along with their party and many members of the compliant state (and unfortunately many members of the Repub leadership) that they are comfortable with signing up to the world wide censorship industrial complex.
Elon Musk’s X Backs Down in Brazil - The New York Times (nytimes.com)

They did this by not just going after X . They went after all his companies.

Another Musk-controlled company, the satellite-internet service Starlink, was also caught in the crossfire. Brazil’s Supreme Court took $2 million from Starlink in Brazil to cover fines it had issued against X.
And that my friends is how the EU is going to go after him.

Elon Musk could face a hefty fine as European regulators look at including revenues from the billionaire’s business empire to calculate a potential fine against social media platform X.Under the bloc’s Digital Services Act (DSA), a landmark piece of legislation aimed at setting the rules on how tech companies should police the internet, companies that fail to curb illegal content and disinformation face penalties of up to 6 per cent of their annual global turnover.

The European Commission is considering whether revenue from Musk’s other businesses, such as SpaceX and Neuralink, should also be included, in a move that would dramatically increase the potential penalty. While no final decision has been made, the EU wants to impose fines that are high enough to prevent X from repeatedly breaking the law, said two people familiar with its thinking.
Got that ? 6 %of his revenue from all his companies if he doesn't block illegal content and disinformation.

What is illegal content and disinformation ?

That would be ANY content that unelected bureaucrats in Brussels deem is illegal.

The premise of the original post remains . Would Kam the Sham as President allow them to seize his assets ? Will she comply with extradition requests if they choose to go after him as a criminal ?

For that matter would a Kam administration protect your 1st amendment freedom of speech rights ? This is emerging as maybe the most important campaign issue of the elections . All the other major players already comply . Now it appears they have found a way to take Musk out IF the American government allows it . We may be next .

ZeroHedge says best what is at stake . Either we live in a world wide censorship state ;or if Trump wins ;the biggest US export to the world could be free speech rights .
What's very clear is that EU bureaucrats and radical Democrats in the US, including the Obama-Biden-Harris team, have pushed censorship campaigns under the guise of 'public safety' to silence and destroy political enemies. Dictators and demagogues usually use these tactics.

In the US, Musk has been hit with an obscene amount of lawfare by federal agencies under the Biden-Harris administration, such as the FAA slowing down SpaceX rocket launches or the FCC rejecting Starlink space internet in the US' rural internet program. This lawfare shows just how desperate Democrats have become - and that's because - if Trump wins, X becomes the primary source of news and narratives, which would entirely displace legacy MSM.

Oh the irony .In a curious move ,Ron DeSantis attempted to use the censorship powers of the state to go after tv stations that air pro-baby killing ads. The State of Florida was sued and this week Federal Judge Mark Walker went against Florida . He wrote in his decision .

“The very purpose of the First Amendment is to foreclose public authority from assuming a guardianship of the public mind through regulating the press, speech, and religion.” Thomas v. Collins, 323 U.S. 516, 545 (1945) (Jackson, J., concurring). “In this field every person must be his own watchman for truth, because the forefathers did not trust any government to separate the true from the false for us.” Id. To keep it simple for the State of Florida: “It’s the First Amendment, stupid.”

I did not know this. Evidently the Brit ruling Labour Party has such a stake in the US election outcome that they have operatives in the US assisting Kam the Sham's campaign.

Being unalterably opposed to foreign interference as liberal dems are, I feel sure they will quash this at the earliest possible moment, like maybe the end of November?
The left-leaning British Labour Party is sending nearly 100 members to U.S. battleground states to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the presidential election.
Sofia Patel, head of operations for the Labour Party, shared the plans via LinkedIn on Wednesday. She said current and former party staff will target key swing states such as North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

In August the Brits sent a campaign advisers for Kam the Sham Her name is Deborah Mattinson, a top advisor to PM Kier Starmer .

If I combine this story with the threat by Brit top prosecutor Stephen Parkinson that people who violate their censorship laws have "nowhere to hide" ;the only conclusion is that Kam will agree to comply with extradition requests of people like Elon Musk

The Brits sent Starmer chief of staff Morgan McSweeney to the DNC in August . In his spare time he helped created the non-profit 'Center for Countering Digital Hate'.

The Center for Countering Digital Hate is a London-based advocacy group that targets accused “hate groups” and individuals for de-platforming campaigns to remove them from major social media outlets. The Center is best known for working with Rachel Riley to remove controversial far-right commentator Katie Hopkins from Twitter and conspiracy theorist David Icke from Facebook and Youtube.
In June 2020, the group launched a campaign that was promoted by NBC’s News Verification Unit against American conservative commentary website The Federalist, seeking to have Google ban the site from its advertising platform.1
CCDH has ties to the left-wing British Labour Party. The group’s founder, Imran Ahmed, is a former advisor to Labour Members of Parliament Hilary Benn and Angela Eagle. Board member Kristy McNeill is a former adviser to former Labour Party British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and former board member Morgan McSweeney resigned from the board to become chief of staff to Labour Party leader Keir Starmer.2

Note some of their "targets" .

Now there are leaked documents of collusion with Kam the Sham that portends the future of censorship under a Kam regime. Note there are as many as 100 Brit operatives sent to swing states to advise the Kam campaign.

At the top of the agenda for CCDH is "kill Musk's Twitter"

The documents raise serious questions about the intersection of nonprofit advocacy and political maneuvering. While CCDH markets itself as an anti-misinformation organization, the leak reveals a more politically motivated agenda. One of its top objectives is to “trigger EU and UK regulatory action” against platforms like Twitter, further blurring the line between its stated mission and its actions.
Leaked documents expose CCDH’s plan to ‘kill Musk’s Twitter’ ahead of U.S. election

But their program of censorship goes much further than get Musk

But in a recent and thus far unpublished conversation with me, Imran Ahmed, a former Parliamentary aide who also co-founded the CCDH and serves as its chief executive, said a number of things that free speech advocates less radical than Elon Musk may find worrying.
He spoke of his “five-year plan” to make social media platforms “accountable” for their content, and to make it impossible for anyone to generate revenue from what the CCDH classes as “hate speech”. By this term, Ahmed doesn’t just mean overt expressions of racism or other prejudices, but rather what he calls “lies” and “disinformation”. In his view, “lies and hate are inextricably linked.”
What’s more, a glance at the CCDH website will confirm that its definition of lies is unusually expansive. It includes, for example, “the new climate denial” — not denial per se of the proposition that human beings and the greenhouse gases we emit cause global warming, but challenges to Government policies that are supposedly going to fix it.
Inside the Center for Countering Digital Hate's plan to 'kill' X - UnHerd

McSweeney helped Starmer win by running the same kind of 'Trojan Horse ' campaign that Kam is running where she is trying to out Maga Trump (adopting positions he has taken in his political career )

McSweeney is an ascendant figure, having just been promoted to Starmer’s Chief of Staff in something of a palace coup after the abrupt resignation of longtime Labour fixture Sue Gray. McSweeney is lionized, not just for a Carville-style rightward tilt within the party, but for mastery of fundraising and dark money, having reportedly pulled a host of new wealthy donors to Labour in the last two years.
After 25 years of the “special relationship” being essentially “one-way traffic,” with Washington politicos advising the Brits, the Democrats “now believe they actually have something to learn from Labour,” as Politico explained. Democrats will supposedly learn from Labour’s tactical brilliance. For example, Starmer countered former Conservative PM Rishi Sunak’s accusations of being soft on immigration by promising to “smash the criminal boat gangs” bringing migrants across the English channel.

The Dems for their part want their version of ‘Safety, Transparency, Accountability and Responsibility’, (STAR ) legislation passed .
STAR Framework — Center for Countering Digital Hate | CCDH

Senator Amy Klobuchar has introduced legislation for the American version of STAR that would impose 'consequences for harmful content' .

The SAFE Tech Act Wouldn't Make the Internet Safer for Users | Electronic Frontier Foundation

the goal of this change is to stop Section 230 from applying to ads, “ensuring that platforms cannot continue to profit as their services are used to target vulnerable consumers with ads enabling frauds and scams.”

What they really want is an American law with the power the EU has taken to criminalize speech they don't agree with by at a minimum placing a fine of 6% of revenue on an offender.

You can't make this stuff up.

'MAGA' dress designer forced to remove Trump signs from business, residence when 'Karen' called the police.
Andre Soriano, designer of infamous 'MAGA' dress Joy Villa wore to the 2017 Grammys, was forced to remove Trump signs outside of Virginia storefront."

"As an American citizen, as a First Amendment in our great nation, you can express yourself by putting your signs in your home and expressing who you are as an individual, whether it’s religion, whether it’s politics or anything that you feel, without harming anyone," Soriano said. "That's just the freedom of artistic expression and being free in America, and nowadays, you can't even express that."
Soriano and Johnson live in the residences above the store. After being cited by the city to remove the Trump-supporting signs from the business, they suspended them from their homes, despite having been hung for years prior to the incident.

The censorship definitely is happening . I have posted about Bernard-Henri Levy many times on these pages. He is a French Jewish liberal philosopher author who travelled the US to recreate Alexis de Tocqueville's famous journey and observations about life in the US 'Democracy In America' .

He has written many books . His latest ; “Israel Alone” has been censored by his publisher. He writes in WSJ
he thought of his “partners” and worried that the ad would “cause them trouble they haven’t asked for and don’t wish to have.” Bookstore “employees” would go to “the management” insisting that “we don’t support this,” and “customers” would “complain” too. “Our partners trust us to protect them from those kinds of situations.”
At first I was stunned. I found it hard to believe that a book of reflection, written by a philosopher, could be blacklisted simply because of the presence of the word “Israel” on its cover. I found it almost unbelievable that the name Israel can become unspeakable in a part of this great country, which since the Holocaust has been the second homeland for Jews, and whose brave soldiers liberated Auschwitz 80 years ago.
But here we are. It seems that no Jewish author, no one remotely connected to Judaism, is safe from this kind of exclusion

The same magazine that black listed the ad for Levi's book; 'Shelf Awareness ; promoted a children's book' P Is for Palestine '. It is an alphabet recital . When it gets to I the word is "intifada.....defined as "rising up for what is right, whether you are a kid or a grownup!” .
P IS FOR PALESTINE: A CHILDREN'S ALPHABET BOOK READ ALONG

The two intifadas by Palestinians cost them above 5,000 dead and over a thousand Israelis.

But that's not all .The same magazine promotes 'The killing of Gaza ' by Gideon Levy who promotes the 'one state solution'......because Jewish settlers killed the idea of a 2 state solution.

The magazine promotes the book in a section called 'Best books reviewed .'
