    The party of the rich
Repubs have for a long time been accused of being the party of the rich. The Dems to this day claim Repub policies are designed to rob the poor for the benefit of the rich. For generations, Dems have sold themselves as the party of the working class

    The truth is the opposite.

When Trump was in office the average pay of CEOs from S&P 500 corps was $12.7 million/yr . Now under Clueless Joe ;their pay has skyrocketed to $16.3 million/yr.

Whereas you hear a chorus of Dem complaints about campaign contributions to Repubs by wealthy donors like the Koch brothers ;it pales compared to the combined donation of Dem elites like .
While they claim to champion social justice and fight against income inequality, their policies favor the rich.

You don't think so ? How about the State and Local Tax (SALT) ? Caps were placed on the deductibility of those taxes in 2017 . That limited the deduction that the rich could take ;especially in Blue states where the locals think it is cool to tax people to death It was not a benefit for poor taxpayers .
When the infrastructure bill was being negotiated almost all the the NY delegation of Dem Reps threatened to block the bill if the SALT caps weren't repealed .

Since Joe became President one subsidy after another has been given to the rich. It is not the rural unwashed masses who are buying up EVs There is no use for them on the farm . Yet their tax dollars go to help pay for the EVs wealthy urban commuters purchase.

Keep this in mind as negotiations over extending some of Trump's tax cuts happen. My guess is that not all of his cuts will be allowed to expire. Somehow the Dems will find the benefit in extending the ones most beneficial to their wealthy constituency.

Has the Democratic Party always been the cry-baby Party? [ 21 Answers ]

This is an honest question and I’m looking for an honest answer. Since I can remember Democrats talk about what a lousy country this is and constantly complain about the “unfairness” of life, the “evils” of big business, the never-shrinking scourge of racism and homophobia, and the inevitable...
