A Florida law prohibiting sex change operations for minors was ruled to be unconstitutional by a nutty judge.

“Transgender opponents are of course free to hold their beliefs,” Judge Robert L. Hinkle of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, Tallahassee Division, wrote in his opinion. “But they are not free to discriminate against transgender individuals just for being transgender. In time, discrimination against transgender individuals will diminish, just as racism and misogyny have diminished. To paraphrase a civil-rights advocate from an earlier time, the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

trouble is that what you call counselling the activists call "affirming " . Ron is right There should be a ban on mutilations until a person becomes an adult . Then if that adult decides to graffiti their body ;stick pins in orifices ; or mutilate their sex organs then let them . Just don't require me to pay for it ,

The trendline in that area is not encouraging. "A leading transgender health association has lowered its recommended minimum age for starting gender transition treatment, including sex hormones and surgeries.The World Professional Association for Transgender Health said hormones could be started at age 14, two years earlier than the group’s previous advice, and some surgeries done at age 15 or 17, a year or so earlier than previous guidance. The group acknowledged potential risks but said it is unethical and harmful to withhold early treatment."
