    Stimulus revisited
Remember when the swamp wanted to create unlimited monopoly bucks ,and they needed bi-partisan support for it, they would tout the word ' infrastructure' and like Pavlov's dog all the pols said yeah ;that's what the people want.

One of the promises of the great gimmee was that in the 21st century we needed broadband in all parts of the country no matter how remote. Internet access was the highway project we all needed . It was the equivalent of FDR's rural electrification project.

Clueless said when he was VEEP

The bottom line is, you can’t function, a nation can’t compete in the 21st century without an immediate, high-quality access for everything from streaming video to information over line.

So he worked his charm with his cronies in Congress and helped get the Recovery Act passed. The emperor put him in charge of getting the plan implemented .

How did that work out ?

42 million Americans have no access to broadband .

Clueless was never held accountable . Instead we elected him President. Now he's doubling down, The stimulus The 'BroadbandEquity, Access, and Deployment' (BEAD) Program, became the infrastructure bill and broadband is an "equity "program .(because everything these days is about equity)

$42 billion more monopoly bucks with no one asking where the 2009 money went.

When he rolled out the plan last month he said

“I’ve gotten letters and emails from across the country from people who are thrilled that after so many years of waiting, they are finally going to get high-speed internet,” President Biden said, citing one message he received from an Iowa woman who described the development as “the best thing that’s happened in rural America since the Rural Electrification Act,” referring to the push under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt to bring electricity to farms and ranches nationwide.

Flashback 2011 Here is what the emperor said

“FDR (Franklin Delano Roosevelt) set up the Rural Electrification Administration - to help bring power to vast swaths of America that were still in darkness. Companies said that building lines to rural areas would be too costly. So Americans in these towns simply went without refrigeration or running water,” the president recalled.”Once power lines were laid down, electricity flowed to farms across the country and transformed millions of lives. When a Texas family returned home the first night their farmhouse was hooked up, a woman thought it was on fire. "No mama," said her daughter, "the lights are on."

Sometime in the next decade President Newsom will refer to FDR bringing lights to the rubes in flyover country to print more monopoly bucks .

We now live in a happy time when the objection, "We don't have the money for that," is considered to be bad form. This little happy time will eventually come tumbling down. Look at Venezuela.

Clueless was never held accountable .
Is anyone in D.C. ever held accountable in fiscal matters?

nope So I point at the biggest violators . The beauty of $$$$$ billions for an undefined goal is that it can be spread out and Federal ;State ; Local politicians ;and provider services can all wet their beaks . The there is equity in the fraud .

And thus we are back to dumb voters being helped along by a media that basically ignores anything that might be considered boring. "Just send me some stuff. I don't care how it gets paid for as long as my taxes don't go up."

Reminds me of a guy who used to post here who flatly admitted that he was for raising taxes so long as it wasn't HIS taxes that were raised.

that is why republcs have had expiration dates in the past .

And back to what the framers said

, We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.”

    John Adams

“But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature?”

Two great quotes which would indicate just how firmly our country's future lies in the hands of the church.
