Nope. There are much better and more effective ways to deal with naughty children and teach them to behave. Never spanked my kids, and always got compliments on their good behavior

Won't work. I knew hundreds of families where corporal punishment was used. They were peaceful, orderly, happy families with children that went on the be productive in their lives. That was true of the schools where, as principal, I paddled many kids. The schools were orderly, secure, and happy places. So your isolated experience just won't work .

Not isolated. I raised my kids with Christian love and self respect. I've heard horror stories from grown children and hate for parents, adults who spank.

My principal told me to pull down their pants and whack them on the bare butt. I resigned in late November 1967 after seeing all the tears and even hate that then affected their learning.

Four children living in squalid conditions while being hidden from first responders were found in an apartment filled with “alcohol, drugs, sex toys” and a dead man, according to an incident report and outraged officials.“This is sickening,” said At-Large City Councilor Michael Flaherty. “I was informed by people at the scene that there were drugs, alcohol, sex toys all around the apartment as well as a dead body on the floor.”
That fire department report, obtained by the Herald and confirmed by police response, states that a BFD crew was sent to Old Colony Avenue Saturday morning for a call that a man had gone into cardiac arrest and required medical attention. That address is the Mary Ellen McCormack Housing complex run by the city.
However, according to the incident report, firefighters found more than just a routine medical emergency.
“The apartment was in extremely unsanitary conditions. Approximately 6 adults, who appeared to be males, were seen in the apartment,” they wrote, saying they subsequently found “four children in the back bedroom being hidden by an adult male from first responders.”
According to the incident report the children ranged from ages 5 to 10.

Multiple sources tell the Herald some of the adults were dressed as women when first responders arrived at the scene.

New bill in California Senate (bill 665 ) would allow ;if passed, mental “professionals” to have children forcibly removed from their homes and placed into state custody without the consent of the parents.

State Senator Scott Wiener and State Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo claim that the bill is only meant to provide 'equal access to mental health services' for all children in the state of California, and could only apply to children who are on Medi-Cal, the state-funded Medicaid program

The bill has made it out of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Under the bill, there would be no obligation for therapist or counselors to prove that a 12 year old is mature enough or in a dangerous enough situation to justify being placed in a “residential shelter.”

There is such a requirement for minors who are on private insurance.

Any decision to inform the parents or withhold such information from them would be left up to the 'mental health professional' involved, even if it is simply an intern or trainee.

Wiener has a long history of introducing pro-LGBTQ++xyz bills , including a bill making it legal to knowingly infect someone with HIV.

One could speculate that a 12 year old who thinks they want to change their sex and who have parents who object could then be removed from their parent's custody by the decree of a 'mental health prof

Christie has the issue all wrong. He is being critical of laws that protect children.

What he willingly fails to address is the fact that more and more parents are being left out of the decision process and that is what the laws are designed to address.
