Clueless goes MAGA at SOTU Address
Not so quietly the President has been doing a pivot to the middle as a pre-election ploy to Trojan Horse the American people into thinking he is not as radical as his policies are. He is "blue collar Joe " again.Gone were the cultural issues that dominated 2022 .Gone was the great gas stove controversy. It was old school Dem again.

He of course used rhetoric to great effect when he wasn't rambling incoherent or in a Dark Brandon fake rage . He attacked MAGA as the biggest threat since the Civil War . According to Clueless the GOP wants to destroy the country ;crash the economy and kill people young and old .

But his policy proposals often appeared right out of the Trump playbook. He 'liberally' borrowed themes that one could call populist nationalist .

He proposed protectionist made in America policies including a break with globalization, an end to outsourcing,( "require all construction materials used in federal infrastructure projects to be made in America."......) a manufacturing revival, new infrastructure spending, ("You remember the jobs that went away. You remember them, don’t you? The folks at home remember them. You wonder whether the path even exists anymore for your children to get ahead without having to move away.),China bashing and competition with China instead of friendly integration.

He called out both parties for their neglect of the heartland flyover country ,especially in industrial policy .He brought up the theme of the ' forgotten man' that Trump used to great effect in 2016. "My economic plan is about investing in places and people that have been forgotten," "Amid the economic upheaval of the past four decades, too many people have been left behind or treated like they’re invisible,”

He sounded like many a MAGA Repub attacking big tech. He appeared to embrace oil development in a weaselly way.

Even his police reform sounded Trumpian . Gone were the Dem attacks on police and calls for defunding ;replaced with "It's up to all of us," "We all want the same thing — neighborhoods free of violence, law enforcement who earn the community's trust, our children to come home safely, equal protection under the law. That's the covenant we have with each other in America. And we know police officers put their lives on the line every day, and we ask them to do too much."

He even called for border security even if he made it sound like the typical Dem head fake . Give us a way to make illegals legal Dem voters today and in return we will consider border security tomorrow.

Gone was rhetoric bashing 'bitter clingers ' white working class xenophobic racists . Forgotten Americans, buy American, build American; be proud of America. That people are essentially being ripped off, victimized by the transnational corporate elites. Sounds like Trump talking to me .

Note to repubs. No matter how quickly and sincerely they might carry out the first part of this agreement, liberal dems will never agree to the second part.

I can scarcely believe you would call Mr. Biden an "emptyheaded one".
