Well I'm 19 now and my boyfrend and I have been together for the past 10 months by the way he's 28 soon 29. It's been a good relationship an it's headed in a good direction because we recently decided to stop having sex an become christians, he's been a great influence in my life school work an all I couldn't imagine my life without him now. But my dad and I are really close an I hate keeping this from him but I think he might freak if he finds out my boyfrend is 10 years older than me.. shud I tell him because I think he might throw me out...

Of course he will not throw you out if you are that close.
If you were 29 and he was 39 no one would even think twice about it, evevn 25 and 35 does not raise many eyebrows. And how do you hide a boyfriend for 10 months from a dad you are "close" to, who do you tell him you are dating ?

If you feel that it's in your heart to tell your dad, then tell him
If you are straight out with it, he shouldn't freak.
After all it is your life, and at least your boyfriends a positive influence

Geez that's a tough one. I if your dad really loves you he will accept what you are making of your life, then again try and put yourself in his shoes for a minute, it is a huge age gap... Personally my dad wouldn't be happy, but everyone's different. Write to me if you want to chat anytimes xxxxxxxx

I have found with my dad recently that I can tell him anything and that he will see the bright side of things and even though there is a ten year gap between the two of you that shouldn't really matter. I would think that your dad would be happy for you especially since your boyfreind has helped you in ways that you've mentioned and hopefully your dad will see the bright side of things two and if not he should reolise that your turning into a woman and have your own life to live now. :)

Mama you are 19 you can work and you can have an apartment tell you're parents and if they love you the way you think they do they won't trhow you out

My guess is they'll be concerned, maybe strongly so. But now they will be hurt that you've kept this secret from them. So, his age is no longer the only issue, you've managed to add subterfuge and sins of omission. Plus, now they're going to suspect anything you tell them about him because you kept the secret, they'll wonder what else you've kept hidden about him. (and rightly so)

You have to tell them, you have to accept the situation you've now managed to make MUCH worse than it would've been initially.

Are they christians, too? Or will that be another conention with them?

Personally, I would let him see he is a great guy and you have a good relationship and wait for them to ask how old he is. Then if they make an issue say that now that you are 19 you didn't see age as an issue.

You can't put an age on love and if your parents know that, they won't be botherd how old your partner is but it is a bit of an age gap. If you love him then you shouldn't care if the whole world is against you aslong as you`ve got each other

Tell your dad! There's nothing wrong with what your doing. Your an adult and hopefully your dad can see what a positive influence this guy has had on u. I think by sitting down and talking to your dad about it will show him how mature and level headed you are and that your obviously grown up enough to make your own decisions. I would think he would respect you more for telling him. Good luck xx
