I have a 2000 dodge ram and my panels guages died,at first they thought it was the whole panel inside that had died but my lights on the panel still worked. It was just my guages,I needed a new cluster for the dash. You might need the whole part that goes on the inside of the panel or you could have a short.Good luck.

    Several thoughts:

. Test all under-dash and under-hood fuses with a test light or multimeter. Anytime you start to have electrical problems, you want to begin here. This is how to quickly and professionally do it:

. Look for the ACG (ALT) (S) fuse on the under-dash fuse box cover. Remove the fuse and plug it back it again. Corrosion may have formed on the contacts. Even better, spray the removed fuse with WD-40. This fuse normally controls power to all gauges.

. If the problem still exists, check out the ignition switch and harness. It provides electrical power to all gauges.

Thanks for the help. I have more info on the problem. It appears to be a bad connection in the dash itself. If I bang the top of the dash the fault will come and go. Sometimes only half the dash will work. If the dash uses a PCB Instrument cluster, it probably has ringed connections. I am an Electronic Technician and have repaired many Volkswagen Jetta dashes. I hope this is the problem with mine. I have never removed the dash of my 2002 Honda Civic and not too sure how to get to the dash. Can you help.
    Thanks Graham
