    What do I do after a quitclaim deed on a single family has been signed and notorized?

    It has to be recorded in the County Clerk or County Register's office.

    You can go to the recording office yourself to have it done or you can have it handled by a title company for a relatively low fee. They will review the deed to make sure it was done properly and then have it recorded and returned to you.

    If you are the one buying, make sure that it is done right, a big number of ones done by people who are not trained in doing them are done wrong.

    The land description has to be in the eact legal terms used in the other deeds, and the wording to transfer it has to be exact also.

    But as noted, it has to be recorded or there is no official record of it at the court house.
