    Drug Court in Florida
Can someone give me a "simple" answer as to what Drug Court in Florida means? My friend's daughter is in rehab and is telling us they are trying to force her into drug court. She said everyone (recovering addicts) are telling her not to do it. It sounds like the state is just really serious about getting their drug problems taken care of.
    Someone help me here.

    Hello grets:

    Here is what it is:

"The mission of drug courts is to stop the abuse of alcohol and other drugs and related criminal activity by offenders. Drug courts handle cases involving drug-addicted offenders through an extensive supervision and treatment program. In exchange for successful completion of the program, the court may dismiss the original charge, reduce or set aside a sentence, offer some lesser penalty, or offer a combination of these."

Do they work, or are they good? I don't know.
