    Can a new owner of an apartment complex raise you rent and how much in the state of New Jersey?

    If you have a written lease then the rent can't be increased during the term of that lease even if there is a new owner.

    Once the written lease ends then, in most places in NJ, the landlord can increase the rent as much as they think they can get.
