Opposites attract
Can anyone help me...
Why would a guy who is completely the opposite of me like me... alot!
He is into weed, smoking and can come across quite cocky (despite the fact he is usually jokin, its just the way he is)
Whereas I am sort of a geek, college work comes first, hate drugs and smoking, and always very polite, I would never answer anyone back!
Although I disagree with the things he does I can't help but like him back a lot!
Apparently he likes me because I am good, and I have to admit when its us two I see a completely different side to him, he is warming, friendly, calm and we are more at the same level alone
But please can you help me understand why opposites attract and why I'm finding myself liking him back?
Thank you

Because what he lacks you have and what you lack he has. If you understand what I mean. Some times we are our own worst critic.
We feel a void in our lives and when we meet some one which is totally opposite we fill that void.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Would a relationship work in this situation?

Actually it's a good thing, nevertheless, in any relationship both parties have to work on it in order for to grow and stay healthy. Keeping an open mind and communication is always a very important key to any type of a relationship.

I would just like to add that we do sometimes look for what we feel we need. And if we see it in someone else then we are often attracted to them for that reason. The downside is that we can choose to recognise these traits and work to own them ourselves and once we do, we often discover that we are no longer attracted to the other person.

Anything is possible if your willing to work together. Go slow and enjoy getting to know each other and you'll find out. Because you are attracted to someone doesn't mean you will be good for one another.

The only thing is, DO NOT let him pull you down! You're good, don't let his badness rub off on you and start doing the weed/drugs stuff. That's just very unattractive, unhealthy, not to mention illegal. Don't let hjim change you for the worse.

Thanks, good advice... but I would never let anyone pull me down! I have my life planned out and I know may dreams and aspirations and where I want to get. Getting involved in drugs would stop this from happening and I would never allow that!
He said if we got together, he would try and cut the weed and smoking. So far we are still not together and he has not smoked weed for 3 weeks and I am not sure about the smoking, as he is quite secretive with me about what he does and doesn't do, for all I know he could be smoking weed behind my back, but I get the impression he isn't!
Thanks for all you help guys! Really appreciated, it's a touch decision I will have to make, but for the time being I feel what is right is too leave it and concentrate on my college work and exams!
Thank you once again!

It helps that you have many things in your life that you are focused on, and don't worry he will not be the only attraction you will bump into.

Ok so the other night I met this basically unattainable girl who can probably get any man in the world. I know that is selling myself short and it won't stop me for trying, I just wonder how do you attract someone like that.
We met the other night and had a great conversation and I am moving in...
