Direct Pay Extension - Married filing jointly
    Hi All,

I just made a direct pay in IRS website for my tax due and chose the reason as extension for applying extension. In the process it only asked me my SSN details and didn't ask for spouse SSN details. We are planning to file Jointly as usual this year. Do I need to apply separate extension for spouse ssn or how that works.

    Thanks for your time

No, the extension for you will also apply to your wife, because a joint return is two people filing as one, so whatever is done for one spouse also applies to the other spouse.
