    My Cat's Night Races
    Hello:
I have heard this before about younger cats,. but every night about 11:30-12 midnight my 7 month old starts her racing around the place. She will get tired out and eventually get to bed within about a half hour. However, I find I must let her rest first for the Indy 500 to stop. Has anyone else had this problem. Any ideas how to move her schedule to earlier, or stop it sooner? --THX! James

This one can be a tough one - because cats like to play when it's quiet. Nighttime is a favorite time to play. And when they are hyper, its hard to calm them down. Can you try maybe calling her and stroking her, putting her in her favorite sleeping place. You could also try playing with her - say throwing a small rubber ball or toy she likes - so she can chase it and wear herself out.

The one thing that I found that helped was wearing the cat out before bedtime. Get some interactive chase toys, and schedule a half hour of intense chase play before bed. That may help.
