    Confused newb
    I have a closet furnace that won't heat.I JUMPED R TO G and the blower comes on.I jump r to w shouldn't I be getting gas

    R to W is typically used for heat. Is the breaker on? Measure voltage at the R and W terminals. What do you get. If nothing it could be the control transformer. How old is the unit? Pilot light or electronic ignition? Connecting R and W with a pilot light unit , if all is well, would start the gas. If electronic, it would start the inducer fan.
