    Replace a Federal Pacific thermostat
    Don't know if my Federal Pacific thermostat is a 2 or 4 wire unit

    Open the cover and count the wires. If it is heat or AC only it is likely a 2 wire. If it is heat/AC or a heat pump it is more than 2 wire.
