We purchased this 1991 doublewide mobile home in Pennsylvania 2008 from a private owner. It has never been titled because the previous owner financed in New York State and they did not title a mobile home older than 1994. The previous owner does not have a MSO. We have been to the DMV in New York State and found no record of the serial number has ever been recorded with them. DMV in Pennsylvania can not do anything without a MSO. WE have been in contact with the bank the previous owner financed through and they do not have a copy of the MSO , We have been in contact with the manufacture of the home and they state their company does not give MSO's anymore for Mobile Homes. We have no Idea what to do now, Hope you can help us.

That's crazy... if they were financed you would think that a general blanket security loan was placed and that it would be recorded on the Personal Property Registry against the previous owner since it doesn't sound like it's affixed to the land - if any seizure was to take place, they need the mobile homes registration or serial number to ensure that they are to seize the correct Property.. are you sure its not affixed and runs with the land? Is there title or a deed? If not it sounds very fishy... I would get an attorney to look into it.
