    Blower Motor?
Thanks in advance for any help. About a week ago, what I believe is the AC blower .is making a loud squeak/squeal when it kicks on and off. It only happens when it kicks off now. Is this something I can fix with limited knowledge? Is it actually the blower motor?

    Thanks again

Where is it? Since we have no idea as to your design and setup, it's hard to offer suggestions. Inside unit? Could be the squirrel cage of the air handler hitting the blower plenum. If this is a very old unit, may be a drive belt, all newer ones are direct drive.

Thanks for the reply. It is inside underneath the furnace. Only makes the noise when it stops.

Could be a bearing or a bearing in a support arm, if so equipped, or the cage is hitting the plenum. As I noted, how old? Direct or belt drive?
