    Light Fixture Clicking
Yesterday my ceiling fan tripped the breaker when I turned on the light on my bedroom (just the light not the fan blades). When I restored power to the room and turned the swith on again the light would not come on. I replaced the bulbs to rule them out as the issue but no luck. The strangest part is that now when the switch is turned on I hear this clicking sound coming from the fan. Any idea what is causing the lack of power, the clicking noise, and how to fix it? I'll note that the switch next to the light switch that controls the fan blades still works and can turn the fan blades on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you getting a clicking sound or a buzzing sound? Is the light fixture part of the fan?

Can you open the light attachment, look and listen for this sound? I am concerned that there might be loose connections building up heat because of arching.

At the worst, consider replacing the entire fan and light kit. At the best it may be a loose connection which can be fixed, prior to a fire. Somewhere in the middle you might be able to find a replacement switch. However, most light kits that I have worked on were not field serviceable and needed to be ordered from the manufacturer.
