    H1B tax problem
    Hello,

I was in the US on an H1B and left in 2006. My taxes I thought were correctly paid but obviously they weren't and the IRS took some money out of my account.

Is it still possible for me to apply for an H1B and reenter the United States?

    Thank you!

I am not an immigration attorney, but I see no reason you cannot apply for an H-1B visa.

It is likely your IRS records have been expunged, and even if that were NOT the case, your tax situation was administrative and NOT criminal in nature, so there would be no bar to your re-entry.

    Thank you for your response.

Having travelled and seen many places I can happily assert that the United States is still the best and freest place in the world.

Since I spent a significant part of my adult life defending this country, I tend to agree!
