Share What Helped You The Most
I believe anyone asking a question on how to deal with a situation, or how to cope with something they know they can't change, are all looking to do the right thing. They all want to grow and improve the quality of their life and the lives of the people around them. If they didn't they wouldn't be posting here.

As most of you around here know, I love helping people, I love giving advice. But, no matter how much we care or how much we want to help someone, we just can't cover it all.

I have created this thread for you to list and perhaps link to something you read that you thought was very helpful and may be of help to others on the Ask Me Help Desk.

Avoid anything that looks like advertising. I don't think that's allowed.

You are simply recommending helpful material for the posters of this forum.

“Where do you learn all this stuff, Don? You know so much, or maybe I just think you do. No. You do know a lot. Is it all practice? Don't you get any formal training to be a Master?”
“They give you a book to read.”

From - Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah by Richard Bach

All suggestions and recommendations are much appreciated.

It comes in 24 chapters, 24 parts to be used as a course in The Law Of Attraction. The secret is to read and work on one chapter a week. This gives your brain time to process the information.

Free Ebook - As A Man Thinketh by James Allen

As a Man Thinketh by James Allen - Project Gutenberg

"Man is made or unmade by himself; in the armoury of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself. He also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace. By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the Divine Perfection; by the abuse and wrong application of thought, he descends below the level of the beast. Between these two extremes are all the grades of character, and man is their maker and master."

"Man is always the master, even in his weakest and most abandoned state; but in his weakness and degradation he is the foolish master who misgoverns his "household." When he begins to reflect upon his condition, and to search diligently for the Law upon which his being is established, he then becomes the wise master, directing his energies with intelligence, and fashioning his thoughts to fruitful issues. Such is the conscious master, and man can only thus become by discovering within himself the laws of thought; which discovery is totally a matter of application, self-analysis, and experience."

Earl Nightingale, widely regarded as the father of modern day personal development, called the ideas in this book, "The Strangest Secret". The secret, he said, is "we become what we think about".
