    Heat exchanger
Hello. I had a new lennox gas furnace installed in my home in January 2010. It was working great and I have it serviced annually. Last week the tech came for a routine check and said everything was great. 5-6 days later it began leaking. When they returned they said there was now a crack in the heat exchanger which needs to be replaced for $2,300. This didn't seem right to me and after going back and forth- they them said lennox would replace the unit but it's still be $2,000 for installation. My question is, could this have been done during the service and isn't 6 yrs too soon if this was being maintained properly?
