    Did you scroll down for the other applications? There are literally hundreds of auto air venting valves for ANY hot water system application.

    Google auto air vent valves for water heaters.

    Yes, you are correct, these type of devices are meant for use to vent gases in closed hydronic / radiant systems where the fluid is rendered inert by repeated heatings and mostly void of minerals / sediment / suspended particles that can foul the float & burp mechanism...
