PETH Test on January 4th, 2016
    Hey guys,

So I am in a licensing board monitoring program and they are most likely requiring that I have PETH blood test in early January (between the 1st-4th)... My last heavy drinking day was Dec 2nd.. . Also, I did have one glass of wine on the 19th.

I'm pretty sure the cutoff is 20ng/ml... what are the chances that I will pass this test.

Oh, & I am also giving blood on Dec 30th... I'm not sure if that will make a difference.

    Thanks!
    Jessica

Don't drink or drug through the holidays and you may be fine.

I was told that single drink episodes don't show up. Also, I don't plan on touching alcohol up until the test. Not sure if this matters, but I'm 5'9" , 135, 29 yrs old...

Single drinks, if they are every day, can add up.

If you do not drink any more you should be fine.

While a single drink event could be undetected if you use/consume alcohol based products you can exceed the limits of the test and employers do not have to consider incidental exposure in new applicants.

A "shot" of mouthwash everyday COULD fail you as an example. Be aware of the products you use that contain alcohol and seek non alcohol containing products.

Thanks, everyone. I am already not allowed to consume alcohol based products, as they may show up on ETG testing that I receive every other week... So hopefully, that won't be a concern. I do not plan on consuming anymore alcohol/alcohol based products from this point forward.

I usually don't answer piggy backed questions, but I needed to chime in. These programs usually require abstinence from ALL alcohol. Including those in alcohol rubs, hand sanitizers, and foods. Those will fail you.
