    Litmus paper
    The solution that forms from the reaction between sodium metal and water is

    Acidic and turns red litmus paper blue
    Acidic and turns blue litmus paper red
    Basic and turns blue litmus paper red
    Basic and turns red litmus paper blue

    I think it is turns red litmus paper blue but I don't no if it would be acidic or basic

    What is the chemical reaction? What is produced? Is it an acid or a base? Remember, Na is a very reactive metal and does certain things to water.

    sodium metal and water reacts to form a BASIC solution of NaOH and hydrogen gas. The litmus paper would turn from red to blue under basic conditions such as this.
