    Credit in lieu of payment
We are a small organization that uses Quickbooks for our accounting.
We charge a yearly membership fee (Membership Income) of $125. A new member preformed a service (Driver Expense) for our organization that we agreed to pay him for by giving him that years membership for free (equal exchange). We are not sure what accounting entries are to be made to increase Driver Expense and Membership Income. Thank you

You could use the Transfer function or the Journal function or you could invoice your member for the fee and the journal the payment from debtors
