    Measurements aren't working out. Help?
I bought a house built in 1946. The stairs were redone horribly. My husband and I rebuilt them but there isn't enough headroom between the stairs and ceiling. There isn't an option to move the stairs back at all as there is a landing from the side door to the house and the ceiling at the bottom of the stairs starts with a supporting beam for the structure of the house. Can anyone give suggestions on what my options are?

If all else fails, DUCK. Be sure to put a nice cushion on the bump area.

Upstairs Lights aren't Working [ 1 Answers ]

I have attempted to change a light fitting on my landing and now none of my lights are working upstairs. I have checked the fuses at the board (which are ok) and have also re-installed the original light fitting back in the correct wiring pattern. Anyone got any ideas?
