    Agree with Ballenger, but if you are trying to plaster a cement board joint to say blue board joint then you would need to apply a BONDING agent (such as plaster weld) before you apply the plaster to the cement/board joint.

    And of course... if you don't know WHAT to use for plaster... then you clearly don't know HOW to actually do it... and it isn't nearly as easy as doing a competent job with sheet rock.
